America is a huge country, full of a little bit of something for everyone. Traveling with the family? There are plenty of safe and friendly places to visit. Traveling with the guys? Sports are huge in many cities, and so is the nightlife. No matter what you are looking for, you can find it in America. Let’s look at some of the most popular destinations for travelers in the United States.
Orlando is great place to visit some of the Florida theme parks. Florida benefits from great weather year-round, so you’ll never have to worry about getting too cold on your vacation. Of course, the greater Orlando area is home to some of the best theme parks in the world. Universal Studios, SeaWorld, and Walt Disney World Resort are all nearby. This means that millions of tourists come to Orlando each year, making tourism a vital part of the economy. In fact, Orlando has the most hotels of any city in America, so you shouldn’t have a problem finding a room!
Philadelphia is the largest city in Pennsylvania; home to over 1.5 million people. Even before America became a country, the city played a key role in North American affairs. So, for history buffs, there is plenty to see around town. Philadelphia was home to the First and Second Continental Congress, and even served as a temporary capital of America during the country’s formative years. You can visit Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence was signed, or see the Liberty Bell. If history isn’t your thing, check out some of the great sports teams that play in the city.
World famous for its entertainment and culture, New Orleans is a jewel of the American South. There is a little something for everyone in this great city. First, the French Quarter can make for a great place to take a leisurely daytime stroll. Fans of traditional 19th century Southern architecture will appreciate the quaint beauty of this historic district. If this sounds boring, though, you might be more inclined to check out Bourbon Street. Throughout the city, guests can take in the sights and sounds of New Orleans’ jazz and blues, but after dark, the music and partying concentrates around the notorious Bourbon Street. Finally, if sports are your thing, you can marvel at the Superdome as it hosts the Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints, one of the most popular teams in the NFL.
Orlando might have the most hotels, but Las Vegas has the most hotel rooms. Again, this means that unless there is a major event happening, getting a room shouldn’t be very difficult. Once you are in Sin City, it’s up to you what you do. There are amazing shows for adults, children, or the whole family, and some pretty awesome amusement parks included in some of the casinos as well. Most of the hotels and casinos offer seemingly endless dining options, so you’ll also find great food. After dark, Vegas is home to some of the best clubs and DJs in America, so you can party all night. Still, some people like to just marvel at the architecture!
